💜 ABOUT BREAK THE SILENCE 💜
Break the Silence is more than a fundraiser to me. It is personal.

I know what it is like to experience domestic violence. I know what it feels like when fear becomes part of everyday life, when silence feels safer than speaking, and when you wonder whether anyone will understand what you are going through.

That is one of the reasons this profile exists.

Break the Silence was created to raise awareness, bring our community together, support survivors, and help make a difference for those who may still be searching for their way out—or trying to rebuild after finding it.

Domestic violence does not always leave bruises that other people can see. It can be physical, emotional, verbal, sexual, psychological, or financial. It can slowly take away someone's confidence, independence, sense of safety, and even their belief that they deserve something better.

Sometimes the person smiling, laughing, dancing, or hanging out beside you is fighting a battle you know absolutely nothing about.

That is why awareness matters.
That is why compassion matters.
That is why breaking the silence matters.
This fundraiser is about standing together and showing survivors that there are still people willing to care, listen, support, and remind them that they matter. It is about turning something painful into something that can create hope for someone else.

You do not have to tell me your entire story.
You do not have to explain why you stayed.
You do not have to defend the choices you made to survive.
You do not have to have everything figured out before you reach out.

Sometimes you just need someone who will listen.

I cannot promise to have every answer, and I am not a counselor or professional advocate. But I can promise compassion, respect, and a listening ear from someone who understands personally why finding a safe person can matter.

Your story belongs to you. You decide when you are ready to speak, how much you want to share, and what your next step will be.

There is strength in surviving.
There is courage in reaching out.
There is power in realizing that what happened to you does not get to define the rest of your life.
