 Hethersett's Scoop
About me:
I was here a while back and though I'd drop in again.
Unfortunately that was a couple of pcs ago so I've lost all the login details and must begin again. (
Who I'd like to meet:
Michael Collins to ask him why he tried too hard and Eamon De Valera to ask him why he didn't try at all.

 More About Hethersett
My Other Profile/Website Links:
Interests:
Hill Walking, Horse riding (carefully) , pony trekking (little more confident) , rambling, rugby (don't play}, hurling (can't play), visiting local beaches and villages.
My Favorite Websites:
Music:
Mostly classical although I'm drawn to Irish singers/bands. Exploring blues and jazz.
Willing to give most music a try but i have my limits.
Movies:
Mostly older stuff.
It says a lot when one of the reasons for renaming "The Madness of George III" to "The Madness of King George" was not to confuse folk by having them wonder where parts I and II were !
Neil Jordan's "Michael Collins" was hugely ambitious and courageous, you cannot avoid controversy when addressing the subject of Collins.
It has its faults and critics but the ending succeeded magnificently in projecting the sense of utter loss with Sinead's haunting rendition of "She moved through the fair".
Of more recent stuff I thought the recent remake "All Quiet on the Western Front" thought provoking and "The Death of Stalin" absolutely hilarious.
Books:
Read quite a bit especially Irish History.
